about us
Managing Partner - Taylor Bassett
I grew up spending my childhood summers in Saratoga Springs and attending races every weekend. My horse racing hobby quickly turned into a passion and quite frankly an obsession. By my early 20’s I bought my first racehorse in a partnership. From there I was hooked on ownership and expanded my purchases to include several horses across multiple partnerships. I soon found myself traveling across the country watching races, going to morning workouts, and attending yearling and 2-year-old sales. I have surrounded myself with some of the industry’s smartest and most successful people and learned from the best. My years of experience at the racetrack, at the sales, in partnerships, and the mentoring I gained from industry leaders, had inspired me to branch off and start Bassett Stables in 2018.
We claimed our first horse and won our first race in August 2018. We won our first stakes race shortly after in January 2019. Our horse Math Wizard won the G1 $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby in 2019.
My goal is to create a partnership so everyone can experience the joy and excitement I felt when I won my first race as an owner. I am sure you will find there is absolutely NOTHING more thrilling than watching your horse cruising down the stretch to victory.
